Humble Beginnings

Jason Day came into this world on the 12th Day of November 1987. As a toddler he lived together with his parents and two other siblings in Beaudesert, Queensland (Australia). His family however moved to Rockhampton when he turned eight. Jason Day was enrolled at Kooralbyn International School, which had a golf course attached.

It was at this school that his interest in golf grew. Day once borrowed a book about Tiger Woods from one of his classmates. And after reading through was inspired by it. He decided to train three times a day, one in the morning, afternoon and evening.

Turning Professional

After participating and winning the Australian Master of the Amateurs tournament in 2006, Jason Day turned professional. At the time, he was just 19 years old. Shortly after this he signed sponsorship deals with TaylorMade and Adidas and began playing in PGA Events. Though turned professional, he failed to make any serious impact as his best finish in his early years as a pro golfer was an eleventh placed finish at the Reno-Tahoe Open.

However he won his first nationwide tour event a year later ( 2007). The triumph ensured he became the youngest man to win on any of the PGA Tour’s three tours. And three years later became the youngest Australian to win a PGA Tour Event.

Jason Day mother goes by name Denning Day. She originally hails from the Philippines but migrated to Australia in the early parts of 1980’s. Jason’s mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer in early 2017 and was given up to a year to live. But with the help of treatments, she’s still alive.

Father

Father of Jason Day goes by name Alvin Day. He is an Australian citizen with an Irish decent. Although he was an aggressive drunkard, he was actively involved in his son’s life until his passing in 1999. Ever since then, Jason Day has been solely raised my his mother.

Sisters

Jason Day has two sisters. The eldest sister goes by name Kim Day and the second Yanna Day. Kim Day claims Jason Day is an annoying little brother who likes to tease a lot.

In 2009, Jason Day got married to his girlfriend Ellie Harvey. Harvey who hails from Lucas Ohio met her husband at a restaurant where she previously worked. At the time of their meeting, Jason Day was only 17 years old. Currently Ellie Harvey is the president of the Brighter Days Foundation.

A foundation set up with the aim of providing basic needs, giving hope, as well as supporting child-serving organizations in Central Ohio.
