Brentford’s win this afternoon in a friendly game at London Colney behind closed doors, saw Arsenal’s perfect preseason record of victories come to an end.

Eddie Nketiah’s fifth goal of the summer cancelled out an early strike by Bryan Mbeumo, but Ryan Trevitt restored the Bees’ advantage just before halftime. Brentford held onto the lead despite Arsenal controlling the game after the break.

Before this , Arsenal had won all of their last 4 games scoring 14 goals and conceding 4. With the last being a 4-0 thumping of Chelsea.

However Mikel Arteta didn’t use the same side that featured in the Chelsea game. He selected a completely different side.

The first eleven consisted of the following players:

Turner, Cedric, Walters , Holding, Tavares , Elneny, Lokonga, Maitland-Niles, Marquinhos, Nelson and Nketiah.
