Mikel Arteta reveals Gabriel Jesus was upset in the dressing room for not getting a hat-trick

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised striker Gabriel Jesus’ mentality but revealed the Brazilian was ‘upset’ despite scoring twice in Arsenal’s 4-2 win over Leicester City.

Following his £43 million move from Manchester City, the Brazilian scored seven times for the Gunners in pre-season and opened his Premier League account at the Emirates on Saturday.

Arteta praised the striker’s performance but admitted afterwards that he was disappointed because he felt he could have scored more goals.

As quoted by talkSPORT, Arteta said:

Two goals, two assists and the player is still in the dressing room upset.

That’s the mentality, he wants more. He said he could have scored another two. That kind of mentality – to win is fine but I can always do better.
