Bubba Watson came into this world on the 5th day of November 1978. Born and raised in Bagdad, Florida, he started playing golf during his high school days. He was part of the Milton High School golf team which also had featured future PGA tour members Heath Slocum and Boo Weekley.
The name ” Bubba” was given to him by his dad after the former American professional football player Bubba Smith. After completion of high school, he transferred to the university of Georgia where he played for the Bulldogs.
Turning Professional
Bubba Watson turned professional in 2002 at age 24. Right after turning Professional, he joined the nationwide tour. A competition he played in until 2005. Getting to play in the PGA tour itself didn’t come easy.
In fact, it took him 3 years to finally qualify for the PGA Tour. This happened after he managed to finish 21st in the 2005 nationwide tour, subsequently qualifying for the 2006 PGA Tour.
