Cesc Fabregas praises Mikel Arteta and Edu, saying they’ve done a “fantastic” job

Former player Cesc Fabregas, has praised his former team’s transformation under the tutelage of both Mikel Arteta and Edu.

Arsenal signed several high-profile players during the off-season, including ex-Manchester City duo Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko. Fabio Vieira of Porto has also been added. Arsenal’s five signings include Brazilian prospect Marquinhos and Matt Turner.

Arteta has also brought back highly rated defender William Saliba and appointed Martin Odegaard as captain.

The Gunners are not finished with the transfer window, as Arteta has already stated that the club hopes to make more signings, and Fabregas believes that this season could be a watershed moment for the club under his leadership.

Speaking to Football Daily,Cesc said:

I think Mikel [Arteta] is doing a fantastic job, I think Edu [Gaspar] is doing a fantastic job. Not only for what they’re doing, because when we talk about football people, Edu is a football man and he’s had the patience and he knows exactly what it takes sometimes to build a project.

You cannot do it in one day or two days. The market doesn’t allow you to get the right player, sometimes you are too young to compete as happened at Arsenal during one or two years but I think they are mature, the younger players are not so young anymore.

I see a different phase, they strengthened the team well in certain areas that they were struggling and I’m really looking forward to the season because it’s really exciting.
