The 18-year-old arrived on the scene last season amid plenty of hype. Sean O’Connor, Arsenal’s head of scouting, previously described Patino as the “best player who has ever walked through the doors at Hale End.”
And he certainly delivered on his first team debut, scoring against Sunderland in an EFL Cup tie just ten minutes after coming off the bench last December.
Mikel Arteta is poised to approve a loan deal that will see Patino join second-tier Blackpool for the duration of the season.
The plan is for him to get as much game time as possible in order to force his way into the first team.
