Ese Brume of Nigeria breaks record to win gold in the women’s long jump.

Ese Brume, a Nigerian athlete who has won a gold medal in the women’s long jump competition, is representing Nigeria and Africa with pride.

The tenacious Brume returned on her second attempt after failing to make a jump in her first and managed to jump 6.99m. With this, she not only took the lead but also broke a Games record.

Her jumps of 6.81 meters, 6.99 meters, and 6.96 meters earned her the gold medal. None of her rivals were able to compete with or outperform her.

The Nigerian also broke another record with a leap of 7 meters, becoming the first woman in Commonwealth Games history to clear that height.
