Fatawu Issahaku makes his official Sporting debut in league win over Rio Ave

Ghanaian winger Fatawu Issahaku, made his official debut for Sporting CP on Saturday, assisting the Portuguese club to a convincing victory over Rio Ave.

Issahaku entered the game with 10 minutes remaining in the 3-0 victory at Estádio José Alvalade. The 18-year-old took over for Trincao and excelled.

Steadfast FC signed Issahaku to a four-year contract with Sporting in April 2022. He started with the U-23s and quickly advanced to the first team.

Despite the fact that he is not guaranteed regular playing time, technical handlers praise the winger.

Issahaku rose to prominence after excelling at the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Mauritius. He was named the tournament’s most valuable player. Ghana won the tournament.
