Former Ghana international Sulley Muntari has held talks with Asante Kotoko about a transfer to the club.
The 37-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Hearts of Oak at the end of his contract last season. Muntari signed a six-month contract with the Phobians and won two trophies during his time there.
According to GHANAsoccernet, Hearts of Oak is ready to offer the former Inter Milan midfielder a new contract ahead of the season.
However, the deal has stalled due to Muntari’s desire to join arch-rivals Asante Kotoko ahead of the team’s CAF Champions League campaign.
