Ghana U-17 FIFA Women’s Team banned from next two editions of World Cup .

Ghana have been banned from competing in the next two editions of the FIFA U17 Women’s African Qualifiers as well as being fined $100,000 by the Confederation of African Football.

This comes after the Moroccan women’s team protested that Ghana fielded some unqualified players. They pointed out that Nancy Amoh and Rasheeda Shahadu had both falsified their birthdate informations and where not under 17.

Ghana defeated the Moroccans 2-0 in the first leg in Ghana, in the qualifiers for the U-17 Women’s World Cup.

However the Ghana team lost 4-2 on penalties after the Moroccans pulled level on aggregate.

Ghana can still contest this decision before the CAF Appeal Board.
