One of the club’s key players, the Swiss midfielder has Mikel Arteta’s backing. The fact that Arteta was able to convince him to stay after he stated his desire to quit the Emirates at the beginning of 2020 is proof of this.

He was the target of a transfer interest from AS Roma during the previous summer’s transfer window, but Arsenal rejected the offer and gave him a new deal.

That was a clear show of support, but Xhaka has frequently let the team down. In an Arsenal game, the midfielder is one of the most likely players to be booked or sent off.

Despite the fact that some of the red card calls are too harsh at times, O’Hara believes it is time to let him go.

Speaking on Talk Sport he said:

Get rid. He lets you down in big games. I think Arsenal would be right amongst it this season with the players that they’ve signed.

Yeah, I think it’s time. Get rid of him.
