Alan Smith believes Gabriel Jesus’ failure to score against Southampton was due to tiredness.

After being held to a 1-1 tie at Saint Mary’s, the Gunners dropped points for the second time this season. Arsenal had hoped to extend their league lead to 30 points, but were thwarted by a stubborn Southampton side.
Gabriel Jesus had several chances to win the game in the first half but failed to capitalise. Alan Smith believes he didn’t convert his chances because he was exhausted.

He said on Sky Sports:
“For me, [Jesus] looking a touch jaded. It’s been a battle out there and he played most of the game on Thursday, Jesus.
“He’s got Eddie Nketiah on the bench who does look lively these days coming on.”
