Ex Liverpool player David James has urged Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale to leave the Emirates in January.

Ramsdale has seen his spot taken by new arrival David Raya.

Arteta prior to the arrival of Raya stated Ramsdale was still in his plans but the last ten games proves otherwise.

As quoted by Mirror, James said:

“If he has any chance of giving Gareth Southgate a headache over goalkeeping selection, he won’t be doing that sat on the bench at Arsenal“. He might have to have a conversation with Mikel [Arteta] and his agent and see if there’s an opportunity for him to play the rest of the season somewhere else.”

“David Raya has been a fantastic goalkeeper in the Premier League, there is no question about that. But he has made mistakes I don’t think Ramsdale has made, then Arteta comes out and defends Raya. It doesn’t seem fair in some senses.”
