‘Its not a foul, Eriksen is just weak’: Chelsea legend Floyd Hasselbaink slams VAR for denying Arsenal goal

Chelsea legend Floyd Hasselbaink, has slammed VAR for denying Arsenal a clear goal. Arsenal’s unbeaten streak came to an end at Old Trafford, where they were defeated 3-1.

The scoreline flatters United, but Arsenal was the superior team. Regardless, the gunners failed to convert their chances when they were needed, and United punished them for it.

Rashford’s two quick counter-attack goals ended Arsenal’s comeback hopes after Bukayo Saka equalized. Arsenal took the lead through Martinelli, but VAR overturned the goal due to a foul.

Odegaard was adjudged to have fouled Eriksen prior to the goal, but Floyd Hasselbaink disagrees. He maintains that Eriksen was rather weak and that the goal should have stood.

On Sky Sports he said:

“I think it’s ridiculous that they go back to that I don’t think it’s a foul. They have changed their saying that they are going to be more lenient.”

“Yes there is contact Eriksen is just weaker than the other player it’s just a turnover of play and a transition. He’s just been weak and falls on the flaw for me it’s not a foul.”

“He’s not kicking the player. he’s just coming in contact and that’s allowed. They wanted it be more flowing. Why is it a free-kick?”
