Arsenal Football Club has confirmed the permanent transfer of midfielder Lucas Torreira to Galatasaray.

Lucas Torreira joined Arsenal from Sampdoria in 2018 and went on to make 89 appearances for the club. He got off to a fast start, with a fan favorite goal against Tottenham in a 4-2 victory.
However, the death of his mother had such an impact on his performance that he requested to return to his home country.
Lucas has spent the last two years on loan in Spain and Italy. Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina, respectively.

Despite his preference to return to Uruguay, Galatasaray have completed a permanent deal for him worth around £7.5 million.
