Ex-Premier League player Michael Owen has criticized Arsenal’s Trossard following his red card against City.

Arsenal came from behind to lead City 1-2 in the first half, and with a few seconds left for the end of the half, Trossard saw red.

Michael Oliver had no option other than to show Trossard, who was already on a booking, another yellow for delaying a restart (kicking the ball). Thus, he was sent off.

Arsenal had to play the entire second half a man down and were seconds from securing all three points until Stones secured a point for City in the dying minutes.

Speaking to Epl Productions Owen said: “If somebody else had made that foul and then kicked it [referee Michael Oliver] might not notice it, but he created a foul, a reckless foul, he heard the whistle, then kicked it away. He’s got nobody to blame but himself.”
