Pascal Chimbonda, former Tottenham Hotspur player, has praised William Saliba, calling him the best defender in the English Premier League.

Saliba has been outstanding for Arsenal this season. His defensive partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes has resulted in Arsenal losing just once and leading the league after 13 games.
The 21-year-old French defender has been called up to the national team for the Qatar World Cup, which begins next week.

Chimbonda stated, via Metro:
“The Spurs fans will hate me for this, but Saliba, he has been absolutely brilliant for them this season.”
“Nobody knew who he was when he signed for Arsenal and, after spending some time on loan in France he has gone back in there and looks like the finished article.”
