Spurs were hoping to extend their unbeaten run to eight games against Arsenal, but the Gunners had other plans. In the 20th minute, Thomas Partey scored a spectacular goal to put the hosts ahead.

Spurs responded with a penalty from Harry Kane, and the first half ended 1-1. Following a blunder by Hugo Lloris, Arsenal quickly reclaimed the lead through Gabriel Jesus in the second half.

The game was out of reach for Tottenham when Emerson Royal was sent off for a reckless challenge on Gabriel Martinelli.

Conte however wasn’t ‘happy’ with the VAR decision. He said:

“England, I have to be honest, it’s very difficult because they don’t have the same line. The Italian Sometimes you see situations that could be a red card instead, or instead a yellow card or no yellow card.”

“They have to work a lot about this. In Italy, our referees, on Thursday they stay together, to work with the video to try to improve. I don’t know if they do this in England, but I think it’s a good idea.”
