Tobi Amusan storms to a 100m hurdles GOLD. It is the first time a Nigerian has ever become a World\sChampion.
With a tailwind of +2.5 m/s, she won it in 12.06 seconds, missing out on setting a world record. She did, however, set a new world record earlier when she ran 12.12 seconds in the semifinals.
Every time a world record is broken at these competitions, the athlete receives $100,000. Along with the $70,000 received for winning the gold, Tobi also receives that.
She couldn’t hide her joy as she shed tears of joy while receiving her medal.
