‘Unimpressed, they have to shape up’: Gary Neville blasts Partey and Xhaka for their inability to control the midfield against Liverpool

Gary Neville was unimpressed by Arsenal duo Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka in the first half of yesterday’s match against Liverpool.

Arsenal got off to a fast start, scoring in just 58 seconds. Martinelli curled the ball past Alison after Martin Odegaad set him up with a lovely pass.

Liverpool, on the other hand, came out strong and equalized. But Arsenal took the lead again just before halftime thanks to Saka. Arsenal won the game at the end via a penalty from Bukayo Saka.

At halftime, Neville shared his thoughts on BT Sport:

“Xhaka and Partey have got to shape up, on the ball and off the ball. Look at that, they’re just getting played around as well.”

“Liverpool are being really brave and playing balls into balls when players are marked. “[Jordan] Henderson and Thiago are handling it.”
