Bukayo Saka then scored in the second half, and Lokonga scored in the 90th minute to seal Chelsea’s defeat.

Tuchel admitted his disappointment after the game, but refused to fully blame his team, implying Arsenal were more settled in terms of transfer sagas.

Speaking to Football.London, this is what he had to say:

I saw a team in Arsenal who are mentally committed to a level of exhaustion that we could not match physically and mentally because we have a lot of players who are thinking about leaving and looking at their options

I don’t remember losing 4-0 in pre-season or two in a row. I’m a huge fan of a strong preseason, but not in a way that a good pre-season has to mean a good season.

We got absolutely beaten by a team that does not play Champions League football next season and finished behind us. But at the moment, they seem far ahead of us.
