Tottenham manager Antonio Conte believes his team should have ‘killed’ the game in the first half because they had more chances.

Spurs’ unbeaten run came to an end at the Emirates, as they were defeated 3-1. It was a big test for Arsenal to prove critics wrong who claim the Gunners perform better against weaker opponents.

But today’s performance will finally silence all critics. Tottenham were never going to mount a comeback after a blunder by Hugo Lloris and a red card for Emerson Royal.

Goals from Partey, Jesus, and Xhaka secured all three points in the end. After the game, Antonio Conte stated:

“If I had to complain, it was for the first half. We felt the possibility to win the game and we had a lot of chances to exploit much better the situations.

“Every time we overcame the pressure we had a lot of spaces every time. We made a mistake in the last passes. For this reason, the game was imbalanced.”

“The second half we conceded the second goal.We could have done much better but in every situation in every goal, but you could do much better there. After a few minutes, the red card killed the game totally. End of the game.”
