As Arsenal look to maintain their unbeaten start to the Premier League season, Granit Xhaka has reportedly been given a leadership role within Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Per The Athletic, Arteta has nominated Xhaka and new signing Gabriel Jesus to serve in squad leadership positions at the Gunners.
The two will be part of the core leadership group, along with captain Martin Odegaard. Also they will be asked to take the armband if the former Real Madrid midfielder is unavailable.

Arteta’s team has won two of their first two Premier League games and are currently second in the standings.
