Rio Ferdinand, former Premier League defender, has praised Gabriel Magalhaes for mocking Ivan Toney on Twitter.

This follows the Gunners’ 3-0 victory over Brentford last week at the Brentford Community Stadium. It was a retaliatory tweet to Ivan Toney, who tweeted after their 2-0 win over the Gunners last season, “Nice kick about with the boys.”

Arteta’s side was being rebuilt at the time and appeared disjointed. However, this cannot be said at this time. The Gunners are flying high on confidence and teamwork.

Arsenal’s squad now has more depth thanks to the additions of Saliba, Gabriel Jesus, Zinchenko, and Fabio Vieira. Gabriel Jesus’ winning mentality has also ‘energised’ the entire squad.

Rio on his YouTube channel said:

Do you know what? I loved Gabriel’s tweet. I loved that banter.‘Toney hammered them last season with his tweet, now it’s Arsenal’s turn. It was lovely, I love to see it.”

“If I was playing, that’s what I’d be doing all the time. I would be smoking people on Twitter before the game. I’d take the fines, I would.”
