Manchester United legend Roy Keane believes his former club will mount a serious challenge to Manchester City next season.

Arsenal had a fantastic 2022/23 season, challenging Man City for the league title but eventually lost out to Pep’s team.

Arteta’s team finished second, 9 points ahead of third-placed Manchester United and 5 points behind first-placed Manchester City.

Despite Arsenal finishing ahead of United, Roy Keane believes his former club will challenge the Citizens next season.

He stated, via Metro:

“I’m going to go for Manchester United. I hope it comes from United. It will depend of course on the takeover and the recruitment this summer because they need a world-class striker.”

“You would hope to think United can challenge next year but it’s going to be very, very difficult because Man City are brilliant and have a great, great manager.”
