Marquinhos has impressed for Arsenal since his £3 million move from Sao Paulo, blending seamlessly into Arteta’s senior squad in training despite not yet being fluent in English.

One of the reasons Arteta decided to loan out record signing Nicholas Pepe was because of his immediate impact. Arsenal defeated Fc Zurich 2-1 in the Europa League thanks to a goal and assist from Marquinhos.
